Halo Infinite Weapons Guide

Share this post:

Attention, Spartans! In 343 Industries’ first-person shooter (FPS) Halo Infinite, a critical aspect of success in multiplayer is becoming familiar with all the weapons available in your arsenal—and we’re here to help.

Consider us your AI advisor (sorry, Cortana!) as we run you through all the available Halo Infinite weapons. We also provide our take on which weapons are considered best and worst so you can channel your inner Master Chief with renewed purpose.

Every Weapon In Halo Infinite

You’ll find every melee weapon and gun in Halo Infinite’s competitive multiplayer below, including descriptions that will help you decide which will work most effectively with your preferred playstyle.

BR75 Battle Rifle

As a starting weapon in Halo Infinite’s Ranked matches, the BR75 Battle Rifle remains a favorite and is considered one of the most robust guns because of its accurate burst fire and excellent Aim Down Sight (ADS) option.

Energy Sword

Powerful melee weapon that can kill enemies with one shot. A successful hit drains this weapon’s limited battery capacity.

M41 Spnkr

This twin-tube rocket launcher is perfect if you love dealing splash damage and taking out most vehicles with a single shot.

S7 Sniper Rifle

The UNSC’s top choice for taking out enemies at range. It’s a high-damage sniper rifle capable of hitting devastating headshots.

Disruptor

A specialist weapon that deals shock damage over time with its electric bolts. Multiple hits to a vehicle in quick succession cause an EMP pulse.

Pulse Carbine

Fires bursts of five plasma orbs in a row at close range that can track enemies for a short period.

Ravager

Shoots streams of plasma with a bit of splash damage. It can also fire a charged plasma shot when holding down the trigger, creating a plasma pool on impact.

Plasma Pistol

A close-range pistol that does extra damage against shields with its plasma bolts. Its charged shot can evaporate enemy player shields but does not cause an EMP pulse on vehicles.

VK78 Commando

With two semi-automatic or fully automatic fire modes and above-average damage, the VK78 Commando is a decent choice for Halo Infinite players.

Needler

A specialist weapon that fires a volley of crystal shards targeting an enemy. If enough of the crystal shards hit, they cause a devastating explosion.

Stalker Rifle

This long-range plasma rifle is slightly above average in competitive play, but the S7 Sniper is preferred.

Heatwave

A semi-automatic shotgun firing hardlight damage projectiles in a straight line. You can toggle between horizontal and vertical alignment.

MA40 Assault Rifle

Want to spray down enemies with a more traditional weapon? Then, the fully automatic MA40 Assault Rifle is an excellent pick for close or medium-range combat with its fast rate of fire.

Shock Rifle

Facing enemies with shields or vehicles isn’t an issue for a player carrying the long-range Shock Rifle, which fires lighting bolts to easily remove enemy shields.

MLRS-2 Hydra

Locks onto a target and fires small rockets in quick succession. Perfect for taking out fast-moving vehicles or grouped-up enemies.

Sentinel Beam

Dubbed a “sterilizing energy projector,” the Sentinel Beam fires a beam of energy that can pierce through multiple enemies. Watch out for the strong vertical recoil as well as overheating.

MK50 Sidekick

Effective at close to medium-range engagements, this semi-automatic quick-draw pistol loses accuracy when fired continuously.

Gravity Hammer

Swinging this mighty hammer is popular in Halo Infinite multiplayer, because its hits result in a tremendous gravity pulse that damages and pushes back both players and vehicles. Only successful hits drain the weapon’s limited battery.

Cindershot

A very popular grenade launcher dealing hardlight damage. Grenades explode when they hit a target. Perfect for creating choke points or damaging enemies around a corner as you ricochet grenades off objects.

Mangler

Arguably the most potent handgun weapon in Halo Infinite if used correctly. With a revolver design, the Mangler shoots high-velocity spikes at the target to deal significant damage during mid-range engagements.

CQS48 Bulldog

Our absolute favorite for close-quarters combat, the CQS48 Bulldog combat shotgun is fully automatic and can wreck opponents in seconds.

Skewer

Considered the best anti-vehicle weapon in the game, the Skewer fires a huge, armor-piercing spike that can quickly kill nearly anything. You will have to reload after each shot.

Bandit Evo

The latest weapon to enter Halo Infinite’s Ranked play (Season 5) is a variation of the M392 Bandit Rifle with a 1.6x holographic scope, perfect for medium-range combat.

Please note: The list above includes all Halo Infinite weapons in Ranked Arena play. We left out power weapons and equipment.

The Best (And Worst) Halo Infinite Weapons

With 23 weapons available in Halo Infinite’s multiplayer, players are spoiled for choice. As you rummage through the diverse maps for more guns, you should know that not every weapon is a good pickup or excels in your specific situation.

Top 8 Halo Infinite Weapons

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the choices? No problem; we’ve got your back. Check out our list of the top eight best weapons in Halo Infinite’s competitive multiplayer below, ranked in order.

  1. BR75 Battle Rifle
  2. S7 Sniper
  3. Energy Sword
  4. M41 Spnkr
  5. CQS48 Bulldog
  6. Cindershot
  7. Skewer
  8. Gravity Hammer

Worst Halo Infinite Weapons

While any weapon can work in a pinch when your favorites run out of ammo, we still suggest attempting to steer clear of arguably the worst Halo Infinite guns, namely:

  • Plasma Pistol
  • Ravager
  • Pulse Carbine
  • Disruptor

The Halo Infinite competitive multiplayer community mostly agrees that the weapons listed above are, for the sake of being blunt, absolute trash.

Armed & Ready For Halo Infinite Multiplayer

When you’re locked and loaded with the knowledge of all weapons in Halo Infinite—especially those to pick and leave behind in multiplayer—you should have no trouble climbing the competitive ranks. Halo Infinite’s arsenal has some clear winners and losers, but we suggest players test each weapon for themselves. The effectiveness of Halo Infinite weapons is linked to playstyle, practice, and aim, so stay sharp on the virtual battlefield!
