History
While Team Secret started off as a Dota 2 team, it quickly expanded into an organization capable of performing at a high level in a variety of games. Let’s turn back the clock to see how they expanded from specializing in one title to growing into a decorated multi-game organization!
The Beginning of Team Secret
In 2014, after a poor showing in The International (the annual world championship for Dota 2), pro gamers N0tail and KuroKy jumped ship from their respective teams. With their new status as free agents, they set their sights on starting a new team—one that didn’t have the burden of a corporate owner.
The budding new club quickly attracted a dream roster of players, including Puppey, Fly, and s4. Together, the five mavericks became the first Team Secret Dota 2 team.
Team Secret Esports Takeover
The team enjoyed plenty of success with their Dota 2 team, prompting them to expand into various other titles. Breaking into different esports showed the versatility of the organization giving fans of multiple genres a new name to root for. Today, Team Secret remains one of the best-known names in the history of esports.
Recent Events
While lineups and teams have changed throughout the years, one thing is certain: this team can compete no matter the game or the year. During The International 2022 Last Chance Qualifier, they scored 1st place, beating out Team Liquid and taking 2nd overall in the main tournament.
Since the inclusion of their Rainbow Six Siege team in 2018 and their Valorant squad in 2021, Team Secret has shown that they can compete against other esports teams not only in the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) scene, but in first-person shooter (FPS) games as well.
